Presentation:     Establishing Effective Public Health Partnerships with Water Utilities

 

Dr. Emery has a Ph.D and MS in Environmental Science and a MA in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma.

 

Dr Emery is a Senior Environmental Scientist with the San Antonio Water System.  He has been employed there since 1993.  Prior to that time he was an Environmental Science Officer with the United States Army from 1972 until 1993.

 

Dr. Emery has over 50 publications in environmental, health and safety, professional and industry trade journals.  He is also a member of the American Water Works Research Foundation, and Water Environment Research Foundation Project Advisory Committees  

 

 

 

Speaker:           Anthony E. Bennett, RS

Presentation:     State Drinking Water Program Responses to Water System Emergencies

 

Mr. Bennett received his Bachelors Degree in Biological Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1977.  Mr. Bennett has over 27 years of experience working in the field of public and environmental health, with most of that time working in the drinking water programs.  He is presently serving as Technical Specialist to the Director of the Water Supply Division at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.  That that capacity, Tony serves as a consultant to the Water Protection Counter-terrorism program at the TCEQ.

 

Tony has worked on several national workgroups sponsored by organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control, Association of State Drinking Water Administrators, USEPA, American Water Works Association, American Water Works Association Research Foundation, and the National Drinking Water Advisory Council.  He is also a member of the ASDWA regulatory committee and chair of the ASDWA Total Coliform/Distribution Rule Subcommittee.

 

Mr. Bennett is an active member of the National Environmental Health Association and is a former Region 5 Vice President.  He is also Past President of the Texas Environmental Health Association and an active member in the Texas Public Health Association.  Mr. Bennett is also currently on the Board of Directors of the South Central Desalting Association, an affiliate of the American Membrane Technologies Association.
