Presentation:     2005 Hurricane Response for Public Water Systems in Louisiana by the Louisiana Department of Public Health and Hospitals

 

 

Ms. Irion is currently employed in the Office of Public Health, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.  She is the Administrator of the Safe Drinking Water Program and is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and State Laws and Regulations pertaining to drinking water, swimming pools and plumbing.

 

Ms. Irion is a registered environmental engineer and regulations specialist with over 20 years of full media environmental consulting experience and holds 3 degrees from the University of Texas at Austin including a B.S. in Civil Engineering.

 

Ms Irion has published or presented more than 100 professional and technical papers and has taught national short courses with Government Institutes, Inc. over the past decade.  Ms. Irion is a past recipient of the American Society of Civil Engineers Daniel Mead Prize for Younger Members (1986) and was awarded the ASCE Edmund Friedman Young Engineer of the Year Award for Professional Achievement in 1987.
