Dr. Ken Gage received a BS in biology from Wichita State University, an MS in Zoology/Ecology from the University of Oklahoma, and a PhD in Medical Entomology/Zoology also from the University of Oklahoma.

Currently, Dr. Gage is Chief of the Flea-Borne Diseases Laboratory, of CDCís Bacterial Zoonoses Branch, Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases, in Fort Collins, CO where he conducts vector-borne and zoonotic disease research and supervises plague surveillance, prevention, and control activities. He is a Short-term consultant on plague for the World Health Organization in China, India, Indonesia, Peru, Ecuador, and Mongolia and has conducted plague investigations in Kazakhstan and Uganda.

Dr. Gage has Authored/coauthored 55 peer-reviewed publications, 12 book chapters and numerous other CDC, World Health Organization and symposium proceedings publications.
