Presentation:              Implementing Water Safety Plans in the Caribbean and Latin America: A WHO Methodology for Managing Risk in Drinking Water Systems

 

CAPT Richard Gelting, Ph.D. works for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, where he is the Team Leader for Global Water, Sanitation and Hygiene within the National Center for Environmental Health. Dr. Gelting has also participated in waterborne disease outbreak responses in multiple states and overseas. He has worked in local environmental health and engineering programs on the Navajo Nation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah and during his time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras, Central America. Dr. Gelting holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in environmental engineering from Stanford University, is a registered professional engineer and speaks Spanish.
