Presentation: Disaster Strikes—Environmental Health Responds: “Stories from the Field”
Brian works for Hennepin County’s Public Health Protection Division. He is a Sr. Environmentalist who has devoted the past three years to environmental health emergency preparedness issues. Brian’s past work experience reflects the public and private sectors. His past public sector experience reflects working at the Twin Cities Metropolitan Council, the City of St. Paul, and at the Ramsey County Public Health Dept.
His extensive private sector experience includes working at two environmental engineering consulting firms that specialized in solid and hazardous management, a mercury reclamation firm, and at a circuit board manufacturer. His work experience reflects solid waste management planning and project implementation, hazardous waste management compliance and permitting, OSHA and DOT compliance, employee training, environmental auditing, and strategic planning. He has published eight trade journal articles and two technical proceedings. He has spoken at more than 40 conferences addressing different topics, all of which were related to the broad field of environmental health.
Brian graduated from the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences with a B.S. degree in Biology, and earned a M.S. degree in Environmental Health from the Graduate School at the University. He is a qualified legal expert in solid waste management in Minnesota. Brian is a Certified Hazardous Material Manager and a Registered Environmental Health Specialist.
