Presentation:     What is Reduced-Oxygen Packaging and What are the Food Safety Concerns and Controls

 

 

Ms. Bohm has been a Consumer Safety Officer with FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition for 3 years.  Prior to that, she worked for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, The Illinois Dept of Public Health, and the Winnebago County Health Department in Illinois. 

 

Working through an AFDO affiliate, Shirley developed the original protocol for retail vacuum packaging which was then incorporated into the FDA Food Code.  She has continued working with ROP through the later amendments.
