Presentation:     State Perspective: Environmental Health in Emergency Response and Preparedness – The Louisiana Experience

 

 

Cory Frank graduated from Warburg College in May 1991 with a BA in Biology.   He recently began employment as a Community Health Consultant and Environmental Health Emergency Response Coordinator with the Iowa Department of Public Health in December 2004.  His role includes being the coordinator of the State of Iowa’s Environmental Health Emergency Response Team.   Recently, Mr. Frank led a team of 6 EH professionals through the EMAC request to Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.  He is also currently involved in the creation of a template for environmental health emergency response and planning for local County and City EH Professionals in Iowa.

Cory is also a member of the State of Iowa Homeland Security Type 3 Incident Management Team along with 23 other members representing numerous disciplines from across the State.  Cory was appointed in May 2002 as the Director of Environmental Health for Warren County, Iowa where he oversaw and initiated programs to better the environment and public health for all citizens of Warren County.
