Preparedness: Bridging the Gap
Brian Golob is
currently a Sr. Environmentalist with Hennepin County’s
Human Services and Public Health Dept and has devoted the past year to
environmental health emergency preparedness issues. His past work experience reflects both the
public and private sectors, having worked at the Twin Cities Metropolitan
Council, the city of St Paul Public
Works Department, and Ramsey County Public Health as
well as two environmental engineering consulting firms, a mercury reclamation
company and at a printed wiring board company.
His experience reflects solid waste management planning and project implementation,
hazardous waste management compliance and permitting, OSHA and DOT compliance,
employee training, environmental auditing, and strategic planning. Mr. Golob graduated
form the University of Minnesota’s College
of Biological Sciences with a BS
degree in Biology and earned an MS degree in Environmental health from the Graduate School at the University. He is a qualified legal expert in solid waste
management in Minnesota
as well as a Certified Hazardous Material Manager.
Susan Kulstad is
the owner of an environmental consulting firm in Minneapolis, specializing in strategic
planning, innovative programs and performance measurement development. She is currently helping to develop the Twin Cities
Metro Advanced
Practice Center
for emergency preparedness. Susan has
over 20 years of experience in environmental programs, managing programs at US
EPA New England in air pollution technical assistance and planning and
analysis, performing early work on watershed management, sustainability and
environmental justice, and providing strategic planning assistance to Hungary’s
Ministry of Environment.
